MidiLibre/Scoop, Apr 26

An 11-year-old child fell from her family home on the 5th floor in a building in Montpellier. She was conscious when the firefighters arrived. She was transported to the Resuscitation Department of Lapeyronie University Hospital.

She landed on a metre high hedge which somewhat cushioned her fall. According to preliminary reports, the girl suffered injuries to both ankles and shins. She also complained of pain in her abdomen. She was taken to hospital in critical condition.

A police investigation will have to determine the events which led up to the fall.
