175 km/h wind recorded in the Gard

MidiLibre/Scoop, Jan 9

A gust of wind from the mistral of 174.6 km/h was recorded at the summit of the Aigoual in the Gard.

The Georges-Fabre observatory is at an altitude of 1567 metres. It recorded the “most intense gust of wind in 30 years” on Tuesday evening.

The record at Aigoual was in November 1982, when the wind blew at over 360 km/h, the equivalent of a tropical cyclone.
