200 million euros in claims from the Aude

France 3/Scoop, Oct 22

The floods in the Aude have generated 16,000 claims in 8 days, for an estimated cost of 200 million euros.

On Monday, Emmanuel Macron visited Villalier and Trèbes, to meet the bereaved families and mayors. Cameras and press were banned from the meetings.

Of the 126 communes recognised as affected by natural disasters, 122 are rural communes. Macron has promised that state aid of “at least 80 million euros” will be provided quickly.
