5 Occitanie burger-makers are finalists in Paris
Five Occitanie burger makers have made it to the country’s top 25 in Paris this week, as they battle to win the top prize of €2,500.
On 4 April, the prize will handed out, and it could be someone local to you.
Amongst the finalists are:-
Victor Garito, from Toulouse who will present his ‘Healthy burger'.
Yannick Viciana, and his Indian Tandoori burger will represent the Hérault. Yannick is from Clapiers.
Nicolas Willaume, from Gard - Codolet and Roquemaure, will present his ‘Childhood burger’, a nostalgic burger, with his grandfather’s favorite flavours.
Thomas Saint Léger, of Millau, will tell the story of his ‘Bougre de Piot’. Thomas said “This burger is also a tribute to my grandmother because I gathered the ingredients she liked: bread, goats cheese and apricots. For me it’s a way to prove to her that I changed and that I’m no longer the ‘Bougre de Piot’ (meaning a little imbecile in Aveyron patois) that she knew."
Brice Kolemann, from Perpignan will present his ‘Airstream Burger’, made with 100% local products. (See picture.)
