ActionFroid helps homeless in Montpellier

The association ActionFroid is helping homeless people in Montpellier, particularly important as the temperature falls below 0 degrees at night.

Every Thursday evening In Montpellier, hoards of volunteers pace the streets looking for people in need. Bags of clothes and food are distributed all evening.

For the volunteers, giving is also receiving: “It makes me feel good,” said Laurence Monin “At home the children have gone so I want to give to someone…making people happy is always good . "

At least 32 homeless people died on the streets in Occitanie in 2018, including 15 in Toulouse.

ActionFroid was created in 2012, launched on Facebook.

The last study on the number of homeless people dates from 2013, and that year INSEE counted 141,500 homeless people.
