All oyster producers punished for actions of two

LanguedocLiving, Mar 16

On 9 March this year, oysters and mussels from the étang de Thau were once again suspended due to the presence of noroviruses.

The ban is due to be lifted next Wednesday 21 March, but we’ve heard that the ban could have been lifted this week.

Instead, according to our source, the authorities have decided to punish all the oyster produces from the region, because two producers decided to sell the oysters despite the ban.

Our source, also oyster producers from the region, confirmed that the analysis was clear, but that the authorities who can lift the ban decided that more peer pressure would be useful in times of oyster suspension.
