At least 13 Carrefour shops to close in Occitanie

In total 273 Carrefour shops are threatened with closure, and 2,100 jobs are at stake. According to Carrefour, “there are 227 stores that have not found buyers, and these will close by the summer unless we can find a miracle solution.”

In Occitanie, there are 13 probable closures, and three which possibly could be saved. Aigues-Mortes, Alès Prairie, Alès Silhol, Bagnols-sur-Cèze, Nîmes Mas de Ville, Pont-Saint-Esprit, Beaucaire, Milhaud and Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort are on the list from the Gard.

In Hérault, Montpellier Europe, Près d’Arènes Montpellier are to close, with possible takeovers for Lunel , and Maurassan.

In the Aude, Carcassonne La Bouriette and Trèbes are at risk.

In short, of the sixteen stores threatened with closure in Occitanie, barely three can hope to be saved.
