Beware the Black Friday scam

LanguedocLiving, Jan 11

Watch out for the ‘Black Friday’ scam which is doing the rounds by email. It’s taking advantage of the January sales and innocent email users.

These days many of us are only too aware of scams like these, but if you aren’t, there are some signs to look out for.

Don’t click on any links within an email if you don’t know who it is from. You might be downloading software to allow the scammers to read information from your computer. Don’t reply to any emails if you don’t know who they are from, or if they look suspicious. Make sure you have a spam filter running at all times. If you get emails asking for personal information about you, be wary. There are many scammers who make their emails look perfectly legitimate, so don’t get caught out.

If in doubt, delete.
