Black Saturday on the roads in Occitanie

It’s black Saturday on the roads this weekend, so unless you have to travel, you may want to avoid the roads if you can.

Traffic will be very slow on Friday and Saturday “on most major routes to the south or coastal regions," said Bison futé in a statement.

Saturday, July 14 is classified red at national level.

“Heavy traffic is forecast near major cities, in the Paris region, in the Rhone Valley and on the Mediterranean rim."

Bison futé recommends avoiding the 7am - 5pm slot on Saturday and the 10am - 7 pm slot on Sunday, July 15th. In other words, all weekend.

In particular, areas and times to avoid are :

On the A9 motorway, heading south, traffic will be at its worst on Friday 13 from 2pm to 8pm, Saturday, from 8am to 12pm. Sunday, the traffic will be the densest from 11am to 1pm. Heading north, only Sunday traffic should be dense from 4pm to 8pm, says Bison futé. Avoid the A9 motorway between Orange and Montpellier from 7am to 4 pm., between Montpellier and Narbonne from 8am to 2pm, and between Narbonne and Orange from 9am to 11am.

Avoid the A20 at Brive-la-Gaillarde to Toulouse from 8am to 5pm.

Avoid the A61 between Carcassonne and Narbonne from 9am to 12pm.

Sunday, July 15th

Avoid the A9 motorway, between Orange and Montpellier from 9am to 6pm, and between Montpellier and Narbonne from 9am to 6pm.

Avoid the A20 at Brive-la-Gaillarde from 1pm to 5pm.

Avoid the A61 between Carcassonne and Narbonne from 9am to 12pm.
