MidiLibre/Scoop, May 29

14 children were injured in a Béziers primary school after the collapse of a ceiling.

Firefighters from Hérault intervened at Pélisson primary school in Béziers when the false ceiling collapsed.

The accident happened around 14h15 on Tuesday. A false ceiling collapsed on a class and 14 injuries were reported, including a broken arm.

“I do not understand how this false ceiling could collapse, there was no sign of humidity or structural weakness,” a school spokesperson said to the mayor of Béziers, Robert Ménard. “The school will be closed until Monday” confirmed the mayor.
