Cabinet meeting Wednesday to consider Brexit

Politico, Nov 13

A Brexit agreement has been reached at “technical level” between negotiators in Brussels, the Press Association reported, citing a UK government source. The BBC also reported that technical agreement had been reached and that a special Cabinet meeting would be called on Wednesday, citing a Cabinet source.

The first government official said that ministers would be called in to to see the draft text “imminently”. If Cabinet approves the text, it could open the door to the EU calling a special Brexit summit to finalise a withdrawal agreement.

UK government officials had considered the end of Wednesday to be the deadline for securing such a summit in November.

A spokesperson for the European Commission declined to comment.
