Car falls into a ravine at Gagnières, Gard

MidiLibre/Scoop, Aug 16

On Wednesday morning there was a ‘spectacular accident’ at 10am in Gagnières, near Bessèges, north-east of Alès.

A vehicle fell into a 10-metre ravine. The 20 year old driver was seriously injured, but her injuries are not life-threatening.

The driver of the car turned off the D130, and misjudged the turning. The car left the road and fell 10 metres.

Firefighters came to her rescue, and after she was given emergency medical treatment by a doctor, the intervention team installed a device with a rope to help her out. She was taken to Alès hospital.
