Car plunges into the Vistre, Gard

An accident occurred on Monday evening at around 6:30pm in Vauvert in the Gard.

A car travelling across a bridge on the RD6572 suddenly veered off, and plunged into the Vistre waters beneath the road.

The driver and her 10 year old daughter were in cardiac arrest when the rescue services arrived.

Despite the efforts of three medical teams, the girl sadly died. The 42-year-old woman was transported to Montpellier by helicopter, revived, but in a very serious condition.
