Chef Yannick Delpech’s restaurant set on fire

France 3/Scoop, Jan 28

L’Amphitryon, chef Yannick Delpech's Michelin star restaurant was on fire early Monday morning in Colomiers near Toulouse. The fire ravaged the kitchens. The fire happened only two days after the restaurant was burgled and defaced on the outside.

Yannick has been condemning the violence of the gilets jaunes recently, and he has been victimised on social media since then.

The chef was alone in his restaurant at 5 am when the fire alarm went off. Immediately, he called the fire department and the police.

The kitchens have been totally destroyed, the restaurant is closed until further notice, and 25 staff are now without work.

An investigation has been opened. The cause of the fire is not yet known, but speculation about being targeted by gilets jaunes is not lost on Yannick.
