Cholera suspicions hold up plane in Perpignan
An ASL Airlines France flight was held in Perpignan on Wednesday, after landing from Algeria, because of a suspicion of cholera victims on board.
141 adults and 5 children were on board, when the flight was held on arrival to remove a child and an adult who had suspected cholera.
The plane had travelled from Oran in Algeria, where a recent cholera epidemic left three dead and over 70 people contaminated.
Airlines have been instructed that if they are travelling from Algeria and passengers have been ill, then they are to disinfect the passengers and the aircraft.
It took approximately one hour for passengers to be disinfected, and then they were allowed to leave the aircraft. The two suspected cholera suffers have been taken to hospital for tests.
