Daniel Malgouyres Jardin Saint-Adrien refused bail

France 3/Scoop, May 1

The plot thickens. This Monday, April 30, the investigating courts rejected Daniel Malgouyres’ new application for release. He is the owner of the Jardin Saint-Adrien in Servian, near Béziers, Hérault, and he was arrested in connection with a robbery last October where a man was killed.

He has been imprisoned since October 20th for “complicity in attempted theft with weapons". He is believed to have participated in the burglary of his home on October 5, in which he killed one of the intruders with a rifle. He denies involvement in the robbery, and says he shot the man in self defence.

According to the investigators, there is indeed a link with Daniel and the burglars.

The €100,000 which was stolen from the house, has been found at a friend’s house. Two friends of the family were also imprisoned in late November, for “complicity in attempted robbery with weapons” and "participation in an association of criminals to carry out a crime". They are Jean-Pierre Bruno, the father of the surviving thief, a horse breeder living in the Gard, and a friend, Richard Llop. It is at Richard’s house where the money was found. Last year Richard gave riding lessons to Francoise Malgouyres, Daniel’s wife.
