Drowning incidents in Hérault this weekend

France 3/Scoop, May 27

Firefighters of the Hérault were warning of risks of drowning in the sea this weekend. The weather caused the sea to swell, and they were called out twice to deal with a drowning and a near-drowning incident.

In Valras-Plage a 74 year old woman drowned on Saturday. Rescue services could not manage to revive the woman. A little later, they were called out again to rescue a 68 year old man in Cap d’Agde. The man had got into trouble in the water, but was still conscious by the time he was rescued. He was helicoptered to the CHU Montpellier in a Dragon 34.

In case of emergency, you can dial 112, and please heed the warnings on the beaches.
