An eight year old child was injured when he stepped on a used syringe while playing in Montpellier’s Parc de la Guirlande last March.

He was whisked to hospital and treated for possible HIV and hepatitis. Results were clear, and the boy recovered.

Thanks to DNA testing, the police finally managed to arrest the homeless drug addict.

The 40 year old man was taken into custody for use and possession of narcotics and unintentional injuries on a minor. His custody has been extended.
