Explosion followed by a fire in an Nîmes apartment

On Saturday evening, there was an explosion followed by a fire in an apartment in Nîmes,

Shortly after 6:30pm firefighters were called out to rue Henri IV, where they rescued a badly burnt man who was in the apartment at the time of the explosion. The man was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

15 Gard firefighters and 4 vehicles were on site to put out the fire. The cause of the fire is not known.
