Firefighter saves goldfish

MidiLibre/Scoop, Oct 24

It wasn’t just people that the brave firefighters saved in the recent floods in Occitanie.

Nicolas, a firefighter from Hérault, was cleaning the pavements, to prevent people from slipping after the floods. He saw a goldfish struggling in a muddy pothole near Trèbes.

He rescued the goldfish, and put it in a bucket of clean water, before he took it home to give to his girlfriend. His girlfriend persuaded him to launch a facebook page to find its owners.

“My cherie told me: maybe people have lost that little fish, and they really care about it. It might make a lot of people smile, but let’s hope it makes the owners smile,” concludes Nicolas.
