Helping homeless people in Occitanie

Around 20 businesses are already participating in the scheme, and Toulouse is the seventh city to take part.
Shops offer services or products for homeless people by showing a sign on the door, which indicates that there are services on offer. This may be as simple as offering a free glass of water, or charging a phone. Residents can obtain vouchers to give to homeless people, such as a hot coffee, or even a haircut.
Homeless Sylla Sekouba said “When you have no friends and you are homeless, you are in an environment where often no one helps you, it is difficult, you have to be in society, to be with people.”
Mamasséssé Mei-Té, hairdresser, is delighted with the creation of this network. “A lot of people are in pain, I always put myself in the place of others, if I were in their place I would have liked someone to be there for me.”
The scheme is about to be launched in other areas of the "pink city".
