Hit and run in Argelès-sur-Mer

A driver knocked down a police officer, and injured another person on Sunday morning in Argelès-sur-Mer, in the Pyrenees-Orientales. The motorist is wanted by the Perpignan police.

It happened at 5:30 am on Sunday morning. According to our information, the events occurred at the exit of a discotheque in Argelès-sur-Mer.

The two injured were transported to hospital at Perpignan, and currently there is no news of their health.

There were several witnesses, and they are currently being interviewed. Initial information suggests that there was an argument between the driver and the other individual. The driver knocked the individual down, and the police officer intervened. The police officer was then run over by the driver, who then fled the scene.
