House fire and assault in Hérault

A 45 year old man is suspected of having hit his partner and then set his house on fire in Loupian, Hérault.

In all, 25 firefighters were on the scene, trying to put the fire out. After the fire was under control, and the inhabitants made safe, police did a search of the house and its remains, to discover that the fire had likely been started on purpose.

The 40 year old woman was re-housed by her family, and police continue to question the man.
