Hérault beaches closed because of ‘oil pellets'

The mayor of Mauguio-Carnon (Hérault) has issued a closure order for the beaches following the presence of pellets of oil residues.

The Mayor, Yvon Bourrel, went to inspect the beaches himself, to see the extent of the phenomenon, and supervise the cleaning work,

In the middle of the afternoon, more pellets were washed up on the Carnon beaches.

The beaches at Palavas-les-Flots and Espiguette (Gard) are also affected.
