Huge fire in Toulouse injures 22

LanguedocLiving, Jan 11

A huge fire in an apartment building in Toulouse took hold early on Thursday morning. The apartment building was near the Matabiau station, and parts of the four-storey building collapsed when the fire was raging. Residents were evacuated, along with guests from a neighbouring hotel.

22 people were injured, two of them critically. Two firemen were injured, as a large rescue team fought to put out the fire. The fire spread very quickly through the lift shaft, but it was brought under control during Thursday.

The cause of the fire has not yet been made public.
