Hunter's bullet in the wall of a house

LanguedocLiving, Oct 17

Yet another near miss was reported yesterday. In Montdoumerc, Lot, a bullet hit the wall of a nearby home during a hunt. A woman and her children were inside.

Three shots then a thump. That's what Marie-Laure Gregoire heard, before finding a huge bullet hole in the facade of her house.

The bullet was fired from a nearby woodland where a hunt was organised by the Fontanes hunt group.

Marie-Laure and her spouse have lodged a complaint with the Gendarmerie at Lalbenque.

The representatives of the hunting company will talk on Thursday with Marie-Laure and her husband, to see the damage and give an explanation.

[What ever their explanation, it simply isn’t acceptable to have a group of people legally allowed to fire shots in the proximity of houses, walkers and cyclists. What will it take for the ’sport’ to be banned? How many people need to die for the government to take this threat seriously?  Ed]
