Last of the heatwave followed by storms?

The worst of the heatwave is forecast for Tuesday, said Météo France, as 67 departments are still on heatwave alerts.

On Tuesday the worst affected areas will be Paris, the northeast, and the centre of France. There will be highs of 40C around Bourges and Auxerre.

Later in the afternoon, many areas can expect storms starting on Tuesday afternoon, and lasting until Thursday.

Temperatures could drop by 10 degrees in 24 hours.

Rainstorms could even bring hail in the Southeast on Tuesday and Wednesday.
