Lunel cannabis grower rumbled by smell

MidiLibre/Scoop, Jan 17

A Lunel resident and cannabis grower needed to spend more on his filter and extraction system to avoid being caught out by the police.

Last weekend, on rue du Général-Sarrail, in Lunel, Hérault, police were called in to carry out an investigation, following reports of a strong smell of cannabis emanating from a house.

On inspection, police found 72 plans of cannabis growing in a bedroom.

The plants were nearly a metre high, and well established. “We discovered 72 plants with a value of several thousand euros. They had all the equipment for watering and filtering, but it wasn’t enough!” said a source close to the investigation.

At this stage of the investigation, the young man from Lunel is claiming that he cultivates them to support his personal consumption.

Police are not commenting whether this case is related to a recent discovery that a Lunel resident is supplying cannabis and cocaine to an inmate at the Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone prison.
