Man caught doing 170km/h in an 80 zone

MidiLibre/Scoop, Sep 6

Police from Tarn-et-Garonne stopped a driver of an Audi A3 who was driving with his three children on board. The man was driving at over two times the speed limit. He was doing 170 km/h instead of 80 km/h on the RD 813, in Lamagistère.

A spokesperson from the police said that the man tried to justify himself by saying that he has a “love of speed”. It was explained to him that the stopping distance in dry weather is around 280 metres. His license was removed immediately, and his vehicle impounded, pending his appearance in court.
