Man gets stuck in window overnight and dies in Lunel

LanguedocLiving, Sep 18

A 63 year old man lost his life at the weekend in Lunel, Héraut. The man had forgotten the keys to his apartment on Friday night, and when he returned he tried to get through a small window which he had left open.

According to France Bleu Hérault, the victim lived in the apartment with his son, but his son was abroad at the time.

At 2am, he got a chair and climbed up to the window. When he got his head and arms through, he unfortunately got stuck. The chair fell away from him, and he was left hanging half in, and half out.

When neighbours saw him in the morning, he was lifeless, and could not be revived.

An autopsy will be carried out to determine whether the sexagenarian died of a cardiac arrest due to panic, or if his ribcage, trapped in the frame of the small window, was so compressed that he suffocated.
