Many radars vandalised after 80km/h change

LanguedocLiving, Aug 30

Since the new speed limit rule of 80 km/h rather than 90km/h has been in place, many speed radars have been vandalised. The lenses have been painted over, the machines have been burnt, and blankets have been draped over the lenses. The number of vandalised radars are increasing rapidly.

In response to this, the government have a plan to make the radars less accessible to vandals, by mounting them higher, and hiding them. In Occitanie, the easy-to-vandalise radars will be changed no later than the end of 2019.
