Millas level crossing reopened

Eight months after the tragedy that killed six schoolchildren, the RD62 level crossing reopened on Wednesday, 22 August.

The collision between a school bus and a train in Millas, Pyrénées-Orientales, the crossing of the D62. Philippe Chopinau, the Prefect said ”It was crucial that SNCF gave us the authorisation to open the crossing. It has been closed to preserve the evidence for the magistrates”.

The speed will be reduced from 70km/h to 50km/h.

[Presumably that means that the trains will also start running on this line. Ed]
