It was in June 1981, with the talented young choreographer Dominique Bagouet, that the adventure of the Montpellier international contemporary dance festival began.
In little over thirty years, Montpellier Dance has become an unmissable choreographic art event, presenting more than one hundred shows over two weeks, including a number of new productions and premières.

In addition to the festival, Montpellier Dance also holds a number of events throughout the year, such as shows, screenings, meetings and conferences at the Agora, the international dance centre which opened in 2010.
