Montpellier law school closes after students attacked

France 3/Scoop, Mar 26

Students demonstrated in front of the Faculty of Law in Montpellier following the aggression of several of their colleagues last week.

The president of the University announced the closure of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences on Monday 26 March.

The reason behind this, was that on Thursday, hooded men burst into a conference room, and several law students were beaten badly, and forced out of the university.

For now, it is impossible to identify the perpetrators of the acts, but the dean of the faculty has been accused of sponsoring the forced evacuation. Philippe Petel, the dean, resigned this Saturday.

The University js expected to make a statement soon.
