Nicola Russell - La Première Fois
Nicola Russell spends her time between Roujan, Hérault, and Wales. She is exhibiting at the L'Illustre Theatre in Pézenas, at the same time as the Australian Film Festival.
The vernissage is on Friday 4th May at 7pm, so don't miss it!
Nicola Russell has always painted, though she has no formal training. Her professional life in the UK included being an arts PR consultant for many different theatre and opera companies including the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Welsh National Opera.
In the 1990’s she and her husband, the sculptor Teddy Hutton, moved to Roujan to establish La Maison Verte, a residential arts centre, which they sold in 2007. In 2009, she wrote and produced Cendrillon, the first French language traditional pantomime, which was staged at the Illustre Theatre. Nicola spends her time making cardboard furniture and painting, dividing her time between Wales and Roujan.
