Nîmes “terrorist" was a municipal worker in Nîmes
The driver who drove at a group of 50 people the night before the Nîmes feria claims to remember nothing about the evening.
The 33 year old municipal employee who works for the sports department in Nîmes, was due to be charged for attempted murder on Sunday.
Two people were slightly injured during what the police are calling a “terrorist attack". According to the authorities, the anti-car ram barriers, located on rue Racine, "prevented carnage”.
The attacker is suffering from emotional problems, as it was reported that he is separating from his partner. He was initially hospitalised, having been beaten badly by members of the group who he drove at. After hospital treatment, he was remanded in custody, awaiting charges.
The feria resumed its course in Nîmes this weekend. The police were out in force, but no further troubles were reported.
