Overseas voters law debate scheduled for March

LanguedocLiving, Jan 29

Readers may have seen that the overseas voting Bill was delayed again this month.

The latest news published on the parliament website shows that the Bill is due to have its report stage and third reading on Friday 22 March 2019.

This is the Bill to make provision extending the basis on which British citizens outside the UK qualify to participate in parliamentary elections; and for connected purposes.

The Report Stage is the next stage of a Bill after its Committee Stage. The whole House, either the House of Commons or the House of Lords, reviews the amended form of the bill and can make further changes.
