Police and elected official attacked with acid

During the afternoon of 31 October, the Departmental Deputy Director of Public Security, two police officers and an elected official from Onet-le-Château were organising security for a Halloween party that evening.
At the end of their meeting, the four men left the town hall, and it was at that moment that they were the target of an individual who threw a bottle at them.
Luckily for the men, the attacker was a poor shot, and the bottle landed at their feet and shattered.
The product in the bottle, which was thought to be acid, came in to contact with the elected official, who was taken to Rodez hospital for minor injuries.
An investigation is underway.
