Pompy, the new firefighting recruit for children

LanguedocLiving, Sep 21

Haute-Garonne firefighters have started a new scheme designed to comfort children in distress. It’s called “Pompy” and it’s a cuddly toy which is given to traumatised children.

The first soft toy was given to 3 year old Augustin, by Sergeant Chief Jérôme Castel of Toulouse Lougnon’s main rescue centre. The child was in respiratory distress, and Pompy helped reassure him.

We are invited to contribute to the scheme, by buying a Pompy here.

Unfortunately, looking at the €19 pice tag, it seems that the manufacturers are not making a similar contribution to the scheme. However noble the gesture is, €19 seems a lot to pay for a small cuddly toy…but what price is happiness, I hear you ask?
