Pot-holer stuck in Hérault cave 60 metres deep

France 3/Scoop, Jun 1

A pot-holer got stuck in a cave near Aumelas, Hérault, nearly 60 metres deep.

The man wasn’t hurt, but he realised that he was completely stuck. Luckily, his phone worked, and he was able to call rescue services.

15 fire fighters arrived at Aumelas, between Saint -André-de-Sangonis and Montpellier, to help. They managed to follow the rope, which brought them to the man who was stuck. It took almost three hours to release the man, and he surfaced just before midday, no doubt very grateful to see daylight.
