Record temperatures recorded in the Hérault on Monday
Meteo France recorded record temperatures on Monday 29 October in the region.
“This Monday, October 29, winter conditions have prevailed over the region and especially in the Hérault,” said Roland Mazurie, the head of the Météo France Montpellier centre. “Having beaten a few heat records last week with values of 26 to 28 ° C, which was very unusual for late October, we had a rainy sometimes snowy cold day on Monday."
The following stations were listed as breaking records. Only those stations with more than 20 years' data are listed.
0.2 ° C at Les Plans (around 830 m above sea level - measured since 1994), previous record 2.1 ° C on October 28, 2012.
5.4 ° C at Bédarieux (measured since 1991), former record 6.8 ° C on October 28, 2012.
6.0 ° C at Soumont near Lodeve (measured since 1991), previous record 7.6 ° C on October 26, 2003.

The maximum value of 9 ° C, recorded in Montpellier airport on Monday is not a record but the 2nd coldest value after that of 7.5 ° C recorded on October 26, 2003.
“Fortunately as from Tuesday, temperatures will rise gradually and become more normal during the week and over the weekend,” reassured the meteorologist.
He said that before the orange alerts for storms and flooding were announced though.
