Red pollution alert to last until Saturday night

France 3/Scoop, Jul 27

The red alert for ozone pollution in the Gard and Hérault is not going to be lifted until at least 9pm on Saturday.

The prefectures of Hérault and Gard suggest limiting your travel by car, and avoid physical effort.

Occitanie’s ATMO air sensors measure and analyse pollutants in the atmosphere in real time. Nitrogen dioxide is a major chemical pollutant of the air produced by car exhaust gases, and diesel and thermal power plants. This gas attacks the lungs directly.
