Riols, Hérault battered by violent hail storm

France 3/Scoop, May 7

Riols, a small town of 756 inhabitants west of the Hérault, was battered by a violent hailstorm on Monday afternoon. Three people had to be rescued by firefighters, and the roof of a garage was seriously damaged.

Reports said that up to 50 cm of hail fell in less than 2 hours, but we wonder if that was one too many zeros in the article

Hail storms were also reported at Espérou in the Aude, and north of the Gard, towards St. Ambroix and Bessèges.

You can see a video of the hail here.
