Robert Ménard thrown to the lions

LanguedocLiving, May 6

A rally was held on Saturday morning in St André de Cubzac, Gironde, to protest against the arrival of the mayor of Béziers, Robert Ménard. He was there to participate in a debate on the merging of the right and extreme right.

He was violently shoved as soon as he arrived in the early afternoon.

According to Sud Ouest, the mayor of Béziers was even thrown to the ground before he got into the hall.

His wife and Béziers MP, Emmanuelle Ménard, took to Twitter to voice her indignation at the reception received by her husband, saying, “leftist militants can attack the mayor of Béziers under the eyes of elected officials and without the intervention of the police! Is there still a pilot on the plane?”

M Ménard’s reaction was to say ”I advocate the union of the right wings to end fascism. Then the left panics and becomes violent.”

The mayor lodged a formal complaint that same day.
