Simon Pasieka and Nazanin Pouyandeh

à cent mètres du centre du monde, Perpignan.   |  On until Dec 20

The Contemporary Art Centre of Àcentmètresducentredumonde in Perpignan presents an exhibition of the works of Simon Pasieka and Nazanin Pouyandeh from October 14 to December 20, 2017.

• Simon Pasieka was born in 1967 in Germany. He studied at the Braunschweig University of Art, then at the National School of Fine Arts (ENSBA) in Paris. Today, he lives and works in the capital city. Pasieka paints large canvases in which young people play a major role. He depicts young adults in a wild, natural paradise, practising strange rituals. There is something fascinating about his paintings, owing to the immense talent of the artist and the enigmatic scenes that he paints, inviting the observer to dream and meditate.

• Nazanin Pouyandeh was born in Tehran in 1981. She moved to Paris to study at the National School of Fine Arts, (ENSBA), from which she graduated with a diploma in 2005. Today, she lives and works in Paris. In her paintings, characters are engaged in events as part of a mythological role-play that the dense and structured background isolates from the rest of the world. Nazanin Pouyandeh has participated in many individual and collective exhibitions in international galleries and museums.
