Six Occitanie departments on orange alert for storms

France 3/Scoop, Oct 9

Météo France has placed six departments in Occitanie on orange alert.

They are Gard, Tarn and Aveyron as from Tuesday evening, and Aude, Hérault and Pyrénées-Orientales since Monday.

Severe thunderstorms and heavy rains are expected until Thursday morning.

Floods are possible due to the sudden downpours, and the dry earth from a long, hot summer.

Please take care, and don’t travel unless you need to on Wednesday.
