SNCF works will affect Nîmes and Narbonne
SNCF is planning renovations throughout the Easter weekend. As a result, trains will not be available between Nîmes and Montpellier and between Béziers and Narbonne.
The weekends of March 31 to April 2, and April 7 to 8, SNCF will be carrying out major renovations, which require a total interruption of trains.
No trains will run for:
- Nîmes and Montpellier from Saturday 31 March 2pm 14h to Monday 2 April 2pm
- Béziers and Narbonne from Saturday, March 31, 2pm to Monday, April 2nd, 2pm.
- Béziers and Narbonne from Saturday, April 7, 12am to Sunday, April 8, 2pm.
On the other hand, 32 trains will be provided between Montpellier, Béziers and Sète.
The planned work concerns the removal of the Baillargues crossing in the Hérault. The project began in September 2017 and will last a year.
This project is part of the national security program for SNCF Réseau because of its busy rail and road traffic and the high number of accidents that occurred there.
To remove it, a bridge-rail elevation will be built: the road will pass under the railway.
