Spare a thought for the poor motorway workers
Vinci Autoroutes have called for vigilance on motorways, after a motorway worker’s van was struck by a lorry north of Toulouse on Wednesday.
The “hommes en jaune” van was on the hard shoulder of the A62, when it was struck by a lorry which veered onto the hard shoulder.
Luckily, the man in the yellow van wasn’t hurt, but this is the 32nd occurrence of an intervention vehicle being struck on a motorway this year.
To avoid endangering the lives of the teams who work on the motorways, Vinci Autoroutes warns that you should never go over the emergency lane markings unless you have to, and you should slow down as soon as you see beacons or arrows on vans.
