A young woman died after being struck by a bull at Aigues-Mortes, Gard. The woman from Cannes, was between the stands and the bull run during the festival on Saturday. The bulls were returning one by one, when one of them jumped over the barricade and charged at the woman.

The woman was tossed into the air, and then fell on her head.

She was quickly transported to a hospital in the region, but sadly she passed away on Sunday morning, succumbing to her head injuries.

According to the mayor of Aigues-Mortes, the victim and her husband were repeatedly warned about the dangers of being out of the stands during the bull run.

The festival continued on Sunday, but a minute’s silence was observed during the day.
