Storms and flooding due - orange alerts

Several departments in Occitanie have been put on orange alert as from 8am on Wednesday, through to at least 10pm on Wednesday.

The orange alert is for storms, strong winds, rain and flooding.

The departments on alert are:

Aveyron (12)
Gard (30)
Hérault (34)
Lozère (48).

Accumulations of between 50mm to 120 mm of rain are expected in less than three hours on Wednesday.

Gusts of wind between 80km/h and right up to 130km/h are expected, in particularly south of Aveyron, and the mountains of Lacaune.
